Quote & Questions

Quote:

"The believer must put himself in a position where he is compelled to trust God." - William MacDonald

When is the last time we prayed a prayer to change our situations, so that we could trust God more? I am usually happy to have enough for today, tomorrow, the day after, and the next day, as long as it can go. I often prefer to not put myself in an unsure position about tomorrow and love it if most of my life is travelled in an easy path. But am I willing to be a student in God’s school of faith where He teaches His children to trust Him more? He throws in difficulties, trials, unsure tomorrows, painful situations and circumstances where we have to make tough choices and much more – simply to teach us to lean on Him better, day by day.

Remember, Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Give us this day, our daily bread.” Daily? Daily? Am I trusting Him daily? A wise guy named Agur in Proverbs also expresses his wonderful desire to trust God daily. He says, “….give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’…”(Proverbs 30:8,9)

Don’t delay and miss out on the amazing life lived by trusting God more than ourselves or the people around us. It’s so wonderful to be a child of God who knows his Heavenly Father well enough to lean on Him.

Questions:

  • What are the situations in my life where God has been teaching me about trusting Him more?

  • Am I able to depend on God daily? What are some things that stop me from doing so?
